To the volunteers, docents, the Museum Committee and the HDSA Board…
Thank you to all for our successful April 23 event!
Yesterday, we had a very successful Golf Tournament in which we raised the funds necessary to bridge the operating expense gap between our grants, store sales, entrance donations, and other fundraising projects!
First of all, the event was a ‘sell out’ – well we actually over-sold – our attendees had fun, were very complimentary, and very generous in the purchase of raffle tickets, opportunities on the course, and live auction items. We had very little expense due to the generosity of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, so just about every dollar donated was a dollar that went to the Museum.
It took a bit of an army to make this event appear seamless and well organized. From the Volunteers, Docents, Committee Members and HDSA Board members who hit the pavement to sell raffle tickets, obtain raffle and live auction items and who reached out to their friends and contacts for foursome registrations, to the HDSA members and others registered to the event and who purchased items, to the boots on the ground who prepared the packages, loaded the trucks, drove every conceivable needed item over, set up the easy ups, the tables, manned the registration desks, printed up and set out the programs at the crack of dawn, to the folks who stayed to break down the event, and then will do the follow up on the event.
A special thank you to HDSA Office Administrator Heather Araiza, who tirelessly worked on the mechanics and kept us all organized and moving forward. And to Helena Springee, who packed up the Museum store, worked the registration and than had a successful sales day.
And to the docents who volunteered more time to help with this event, and kept the home fires burning while so many of us were distracted working on this event, thank you for your contributions!
To everyone who contributed their time, money and/or expertise to make this event a success, a resounding Thank you! Every effort, every contribution, combined, is what ‘makes a difference’ to the Museum and to the mission of the HDSA. So, on behalf of all of the team at the Museum and to those who ‘made a difference yesterday’, Thank you!
With sincere gratitude, on behalf of the Wm. B. Kolender Sheriff’s Museum,
